New Pictures!!!

No, I haven't dropped off the face of the earth! I've just been busy trying to grasp the reality that Camille is turning one in just four short days. This concept has really been cosuming my mind lately. How has my newborn grown into this toddler in just 365 days? Nevertheless, she is a toddler now. And with her toddlerhood has come quite an attitude of independence. How did I end up with such an assertive little girl? And so fearless? I'm just amazed each time I watch her learn (usually on her own, mind you) how to do something new. I love how she likes to arrange things in a specific way (blocks, balls, rubber duckies, etc.) and gets frustrated when something doesn't work the way she thinks it should. I know these are things only a mommy finds amazing, but I truly do! She just brings me so much joy! I'd just like to thank you, friends, for caring about our Camille too!

Now for the good stuff, in no particular order..

We took Camille outside after it snowed 6 inches on Thursday. She wasn't very thrilled about it, although she did seem to enjoy walking in the tire tracks on the driveway. We were just about to go in, though, when she did a faceplant right into the snow. She was definitely NOT happy about that!

Camille's first snow angel!

One of Camille's new favorite things to do is sit on couches and chairs. She just snuggles right in!

Camille loves looking in the kitties "house." I though it was empty this time, but right after I took the picture Olie came out of it! She sure was having a good time looking at him!

That's it for now! We're busy getting everything ready for Camille's birthday party. I really don't know the first thing about planning a birthday party, so please don't have great expectations when you come on Saturday! But rest assured, THERE WILL BE CAKE!

A Birthday Invitation!

It's hard to believe that Camille will be turning one in just ten short days! My, how the year has gone quickly! We will be having an open house style get-together on Satruday, March 7th so that all of her favorite people can celebrate with her. If you're in the area, we'd love for you to drop in and say hello and enjoy some birthday cake.

News from the sick house...

Well, I guess I spoke too soon...

So much for being healthy! We heard Camille crying at 4:30 this morning. Since I'm still dealing with a nasty cold, Aaron trudged upstairs to calm her down. Meanwhile, I hear through the baby monitor in our room sounds of whisperings, shuffling, whimpering. After about 20 minutes of listening, I trudge upstairs to see my mom sitting in the living room in the dark with Camille on her lap. I say, "What's wrong?" And she says, "She threw up." Thus began 12 long hours of having a very sick baby. She slept most of the morning, and by about 2:30 began slowly improving. Her fever is now gone, and she's in bed for the night (hopefully). But if you could, would you please pray for our household's health! Pray that Camille has a quick recovery from her stomach bug, that I have a quick recovery from my cold, and that nobody else in the house gets either of the viruses!

Despite spending the day in a sick house, I have two very special people in my life that I must wish happy birthday to...

Happy Birthday Megan! I'm so sorry I couldn't spend the evening with you like we'd planned, but please know that I was thinking about you and wishing you many blessings. What a blessing you have been to me and to my family! I thank the Lord that He placed you in my life nearly 11 years ago!

Happy Birthday Adeline! It's been so much fun watching you grow into such a beautiful little princess! Uncle Gus and I love you so much and we hope your birthday was truly magical!

I know, it's been a while...

I appologize for the delay in updates. We've been busy chasing around a toddler! Things are going well here. We've all been healthy (although I think I may be getting a cold) and enjoying it! Camille is doing great and is learning new things every day. She now walks more than she crawls and is definitely testing her boundaries! It's so much fun, though, watching her toddle around and discovering new things. Thanks for checking in on us. We hope you're all doing well!

Yelling at her kitties! She just doesn't understand why they don't want to play with her!

Outside

Today Auntie Megan came over (it is Thursday, of course!) and we took a walk around Maple Island after Camille's afternoon nap. We've begun another "warm" streak, and are expected to be in the 30s for the next week or so!

Here are pictures of two of my most favorite people!

Lyla's Baptism

This morning Lyla was baptized into God's family! What an exciting event it was at our church, as there are so many people who love her (and her parents!) so much! She can now add a new title to her job description: Lyla Jo Christoffer, Child of God! Lyla, we pray that you will grow to love God and to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. May He bless you in ways we cannot even imagine!
